Reproduction 16th century frame

We were commissioned by Paul Mitchell Ltd to produce this reproduction frame based on photographs of the antique Italian 16th century frame, since sold.  The frame's rails are water gilded and the frieze painted using pigments from our workshops.  The arabesque and scrollwork detailing to the frieze is hand drawn first then repeated with a fine brush before application of the gold leaf.  The entire frame was then aged and distressed to replicate the 16th century. Original silverleaf, mirror plate possibly 19th Century.
