Restoration to an 18th century Régence frame

Here we have a beautiful 18th century Régence frame in need of a birthday (restoration).  Many losses throughout the frame; any loose gesso was removed and sized prior to puttying and gessoing.  The newly gessoed areas of the Régence frame were then re cut to add veining and detail to the flora and to other areas to bring back the sharpness of the gessoed sections.  The frame was water gilded where necessary then toned to match it's surroundings - without detection!
