Charleston painted and gilded chest of drawers. Made to order by Perceval Designs

Available in any size and colour at Perceval Designs the bespoke Charleston chest of drawers, inspired by Swedish 18th century style, is made of solid wood and has been hand-painted and aged - the paint is mixed here at Perceval Designs.  On this version of our Charleston we’ve defined the drawers and top by adding gilt borders in 22 1/2 carat gold leaf, the gold has been lightly worn through to reveal the colours beneath which adds warmth, depth and age.  The drawer fronts are fitted with antiqued brass ring handles.  Gustavian style was brought to Sweden by King Gustav following a visit as a teenager at the court of Louis XVI in the Palace of Versailles. He was so impressed by what he saw that, upon returning home, he decided to create his own “Paris of the North”.

Lead time 6-8 weeks 

You can choose from various paint finishes such as aged opaque or layered washes allowing the wood grain beneath to show through.
